Post Storm SubFloor Damage in West Palm Beach, FL
This home was flooded due to a bathroom leak that was discovered after a storm. It started on the 2nd floor and worked its way to the kitchen. The photo shows where the water built up in the ceiling and then burst through the soft drywall. SERVPRO of West Palm Beach removed the rest of the drywall to insure that no more of the ceiling would collapse. The first procedure to follow when dealing with a water damaged home is to insure the work place is safe. This photo was taken on the day of the loss. The exposed ceiling allowed us to properly dry out the wood subfloor and supporting beams. Dryout on a unit like this only takes a few days of serious dehumidification and air movement.
